ASHLYN. Reverie.

Cristina Grajales Gallery and ASHLYN are pleased to announce an exhibition unveiling the gallery’s latest series of guest curatorships with Reverie., an exploration of fashion, art, and design in collaboration with Ashlynn Park, creative director of ASHLYN, who is curating the exhibition.

Reverie. is an exploration of the intersection between fashion, art, and design, where imagination, aesthetics, and the creative process connect across disciplines.

Set in the gallery by Park, in collaboration with Grajales, sixteen garments and two textile sculptures conceived and crafted in Ashlynn Park’s studio converse with a selection of functional and decorative objects by French designer Christophe Côme. The dialogue captures the power of form, accentuated by materiality and the relationships between garments and the body, and forms and space.

Park’s garments are displayed on tailoring bust forms, presented under pools of light. Using the body as a canvas, fabrics such as jersey and eel leather are draped and sculpted, creating spirited forms and silhouettes that come alive. Every shape, cut, and drape defies time and transmits hope for the future.

Compelled to create garments that transcend mere commercial appeal, Park is inspired by the way in which an artist would approach a creation — where each piece is crafted with intention and profound expression. Park finds this in the works of Christophe Côme. The juxtaposition between his wrought ironwork and molded glass lenses creates a sensory experience that blurs the line between dream and reality.

Coming from different areas of expertise, the gallery is a meeting point of new experiences — somewhere between the infinite and the finite, the past and the future. For Park, these dichotomous elements are key to navigating life’s pathways.
